Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
356 PM EDT Sat Aug 24 2019

.DISCUSSION...
Sunday will be seasonable cool due to steady onshore winds. There
may be some spotty showers mostly across the region eastern half.
Minimum relative humidity will range from 35 to 55 percent,

Outlook for Monday through Friday...

High pressure will set up across the Canadian Maritimes into far
northern Maine early next week, with continued unseasonably cool
temperatures across the region. Brisk northeast winds will
continue especially along the east coast south of Boston to Cape
Cod and the islands, with gusts up to around 25 mph into Tuesday.
Spotty showers and patchy nighttime fog will also linger into mid
week.

This high will be slow to exit, but winds will begin to veer to
southeast to south during the mid and latter portions of the week,
so temperatures will slowly moderate. However, as another front
slowly approaches from the east, will see chances for showers and
possibly a few thunderstorms from Wednesday through late week. In
addition, a tropical system may develop off the southeast U.S.
coast which could track northeast, but this system should remain
well south of New England around the middle of next week. A few
light showers may linger into Friday.
